REGISTRATION CLOSED.
You are invited to an international dialogue cum retreat, ‘Choose Change & Become’, from 10 – 12 December 2010 at the Brahma Kumaris Om Shanti Retreat Centre in Gurgaon, Haryana. The retreat will bring together a select group of youth leaders between 20 – 35 years from India and abroad, engaged in any professional realm including, but not restricted to education, sports, business, administration, culture, healthcare, social work and politics.
We’re at a consequential point in our lives – and one might argue, in the history of the world. There is great change in and around us, both individually and in the global context.
As a young and emerging leader, you have shown a tangible and active interest in serving those around you. But what is at the heart of real, substantial change and how can we make it sustainable for ourselves and others? Economic, social, political, and health-related problems – you name it: Now is the time for creative thinking, co-operation at many levels, and solutions that have a lasting impact on individuals and society.
While courses in management, politics, social and public policy, finance and economics, technology, etc. are vital to building our skill set and future careers, the design team for this event has something different in mind: how the journey of self-transformation can provide a key to the leadership the world needs.
The retreat will walk participants through a more spiritually centric view of the change process.
- What are some of the spiritual resources that allow us to exhibit leadership skills in our own lives – and as a consequence, effect change in the lives of others?
- How do we give to causes we believe in without compromising our ability to remain balanced and objective?
- Why is change in our own lives often so difficult to implement?
This retreat is an exploration into these questions – and will be participative, with a creative blend of reflection, dialogue in small groups, meditation and interactive activities. During the weekend, we hope you will:
- Meet and network with like-minded (spiritually progressive, hope driven, courageous) young adults from India and abroad.
- De-stress in a tranquil and serene environment that will support your spiritual replenishment
- Connect with your inner strengths and values and better understand what holds you back
- Equip yourself with practical spiritual tools and develop a personal road map for expressing your potential.
